Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 75 years old (inclusive)
• You have been diagnosed with a brain tumor confirmed by a brain scan and/or tissue sample, and you are scheduled for surgery to remove it (either for the first time or because the tumor has come back)
• Before surgery, a doctor has confirmed that you are alert, clear-headed, and able to communicate well enough to take part in breathing exercises
• You are willing to take part and have signed a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

• You have severe chronic lung disease (sometimes called COPD, at an advanced stage known as "GOLD stage 3 or 4")
• You have a severe long-term lung condition that causes scarring or stiffening of the lungs
• You need to use oxygen at home on a regular basis
• You had a lung infection (pneumonia) or serious breathing failure requiring a breathing machine in the month before your surgery
• You have severe heart problems that significantly limit your daily activities
• You have serious failure of another major organ in your body (confirm with trial site)
• You are not fully conscious or have severely reduced awareness
• You are unable to follow simple instructions
• There is a language barrier that prevents you from communicating with the study team
• Your life expectancy is less than 30 days
• You are already taking part in another clinical study that could affect breathing or lung function results
