Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with mild memory or thinking problems (mild cognitive impairment) or mild dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease
- You have a trusted person (such as a family member or close friend) who is willing and able to support you and take part in the study alongside you
- If you are already taking an approved Alzheimer's medication, your dose must have stayed the same for at least 3 months before joining
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a known history of stroke or disease affecting the blood vessels in the brain
- You have been diagnosed with another brain or nervous system condition (other than Alzheimer's) that affects your thinking or memory long-term
- You have a structural problem with the brain (confirm with trial site)
- You have had seizures or epilepsy at any point in the last 5 years
- You have had a significant brain injury, or an infection that has affected how your brain works
- You have had a serious or unstable medical condition in the 3 months before joining
- You have a severe ongoing physical or mental health condition, or abnormal results from medical tests (confirm with trial site)
- You have an immune system condition that is not well controlled, or that requires treatment with certain medications that affect the immune system
- You have a bleeding disorder that is not well controlled
- You have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 5 years
- You have a condition or risk factor that affects the electrical activity of your heart in a specific way (confirm with trial site)
- You have liver disease
- You are unwilling or unable to have CT, PET, or MRI scans
- You currently live in a nursing home or care facility where you need continuous medical or nursing care
