Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
For the main group (people whose CMV did not respond to treatment):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You received a kidney transplant on or after June 2016
- You had a CMV infection (virus in the blood or CMV-related illness) that required treatment but did not respond well to at least one course of treatment, whether or not drug resistance was confirmed
- You have at least six months of medical follow-up records available (unless you passed away before that point)
For the comparison group (people whose CMV did respond to treatment):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You received a kidney transplant
- You received at least one course of treatment for CMV
- You have at least six months of medical follow-up records available (unless you passed away before that point)
Who may not be able to join:
For the main group:
- You received a transplant of more than one organ at the same time
- You took part in a clinical trial for CMV prevention or treatment from 2010 onwards
For the comparison group:
- You received a transplant of more than one organ at the same time
- You took part in a clinical trial for CMV prevention or treatment from 2010 onwards
- Your CMV infection did not respond to any previous CMV treatment
- Your CMV came back and stopped responding to treatment during your follow-up period
