Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been recently diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer (a specific stage called FIGO stage IIIA or higher) and your treatment plan includes chemotherapy before surgery, followed by surgery to remove the cancer
- Tissue samples (both fresh-frozen and preserved) taken from two separate procedures — an initial exploratory keyhole surgery and a later debulking surgery — are available for the study
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- Your doctors estimate you are expected to live for at least 4 weeks
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- Your tissue samples, examined during surgery, show a type of ovarian cancer that is not the "serous" type (confirm with trial site)
- You have a condition that affects your immune system, or you are currently taking steroid medicines above a certain dose (equivalent to more than 10 mg of prednisone daily), or you have taken any other medicines that suppress the immune system within the last 7 days before joining
- You have been diagnosed with any other type of cancer within the last 5 years
