Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- People of any race or ethnicity are welcome
- Women between 18 and 40 years old who are of childbearing age (for the PCOS pre-menopause group only)
- Women aged 50 or older who have gone through menopause naturally, meaning no period for at least the last 12 months (for the PCOS post-menopause and control post-menopause groups only)
- Women who score 3 or higher on a self-screening questionnaire for PCOS, and/or have been diagnosed with PCOS by a doctor (for the PCOS groups only)
- Women with no history of PCOS or excess male hormones who score 0–2 on the PCOS screening questionnaire (for the control post-menopause group only)
- People who have access to a phone, tablet, or computer that can make video calls (for the PCOS groups only)
- People with a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) between 18.5 and 40
- People who can read and speak English
Who may not be able to join:
- People who currently smoke
- People who have issues with alcohol use
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have been diagnosed with or treated for cancer in the last 3 years (except a common, less serious type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma)
- People who have used hormone replacement therapy in the last 3 months
- People whose menopause was caused by surgery, such as removal of the ovaries
- People who are currently incarcerated
- People with any other health condition or circumstance that the study doctors decide makes participation unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
