Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are generally healthy
  • You can be male or female
  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You have occasional sleep problems on average 1 to 2 nights per week, with a sleep quality score above 5 on a standard questionnaire, and this has been happening for the past month
  • Because of your sleep problems, you experience mental difficulties (such as trouble concentrating or thinking clearly) on at least one day per week on average
  • You are fluent in German
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form and follow the study rules

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have been officially diagnosed with insomnia disorder according to standard medical guidelines
  • You have a history of a neurological condition (a disorder affecting the brain or nervous system)
  • You currently have a psychiatric (mental health) disorder
  • You have moderate to severe depression, based on a standard questionnaire score of 15 or higher
  • You are currently taking prescribed medications on a regular basis that affect your mood, thinking, or behaviour
  • You are currently taking any over-the-counter (non-prescription) products to help with sleep or mood
  • You currently live with a chronic pain condition
  • You have diabetes
  • You have coronary heart disease (a condition affecting the blood supply to the heart)
