Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are fluent in English, both reading and speaking
- You are already enrolled in the Remote Hypertension Program
- Your blood pressure readings have been above 140/90 on average across your last 3 clinic visits in the past 18 months, OR your most recent clinic blood pressure was above 140/90 in the last 6 months, OR your doctor referred you and your last blood pressure reading was above 130/80
- You own an iPhone
Who may not be able to join:
- Your resting heart rate is faster than 120 beats per minute
- You have a persistent irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation
- You have severe heart failure where the heart is pumping at very low capacity (confirm with trial site)
- You have a rare adrenal gland tumour called pheochromocytoma
- You have Raynaud's disease, a condition affecting blood flow to the fingers and toes
- You experience ongoing trembling or shivering
- You are currently pregnant
- You are currently breastfeeding
- You have a surgically created connection between an artery and vein, such as for dialysis (confirm with trial site)
- You have had an arm amputation
- You have a skin condition that causes widespread skin shedding (confirm with trial site)
- You have lymphoedema, which is swelling caused by a problem with the lymphatic system
- You have a known allergy to silicone
- You do not live in Massachusetts
- Your last visit to a Mass General Brigham (MGB) clinic was more than 3 years ago
- Your doctor is not part of the Mass General Brigham (MGB) healthcare system
- You have a terminal medical condition
- You have advanced kidney disease with significantly reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site)
