Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

For older adults:

  • You must live in one of the senior living communities that is taking part in this study
  • You must be at least 50 years old
  • You must be able to speak and understand English or Spanish
  • You must have mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease or a related condition
  • You must score between 13 and 27 on a standard memory and thinking assessment (confirm with trial site)
  • You must have an adult child who lives at least 45 minutes away by car and is willing to take part in the study with you
  • Your relationship with that adult child must not be seriously negative, aggressive, or abusive

For adult children:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must be able to speak and understand English or Spanish
  • You must live at least 45 minutes away by car from your parent's community
  • Your relationship with your parent must not be seriously negative, aggressive, or abusive

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose memory or thinking difficulties are considered severe (based on a score below 13 on a standard assessment)
  • People with a history of seizures, severe dizziness/balance problems, hallucinations, or aggressive behaviour
  • People with serious vision problems that would prevent them from participating (a vision screening will be done to check)
