Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must have been diagnosed with breast cancer that has been confirmed by a lab test to show a certain low level of a protein called HER2 (measured as IHC 2+/ISH- or IHC 1+)
- Your breast cancer must have been tested and classified as either hormone receptor-positive (meaning it is sensitive to hormones like estrogen or progesterone) or hormone receptor-negative (meaning it is not sensitive to those hormones)
- You must have a tumor sample available that can be used for further testing
- You must be in generally good health and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (confirm with trial site)
- If your cancer is hormone receptor-positive: depending on which part of the trial you join, you may need to have had a certain number of previous treatments, including hormone therapy and/or chemotherapy for advanced breast cancer (confirm with trial site for your specific situation)
- If your cancer is hormone receptor-negative: depending on which part of the trial you join, you may need to have had at least one prior chemotherapy treatment for advanced breast cancer, or possibly none at all (confirm with trial site for your specific situation)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a serious illness that is not currently under control
- People with significant heart or blood vessel problems that are not well controlled
- People who have had lung inflammation (not caused by infection) in the past that needed steroid treatment, currently have lung inflammation, or where lung inflammation cannot be ruled out by scans
- People with other serious ongoing lung conditions
- People whose cancer has spread to the spinal cord or is actively causing problems in the brain or nervous system
- People with a significant condition that weakens the immune system from birth or early life
- People with an active infection that requires IV (intravenous) antibiotics, antiviral, or antifungal treatment
- People who have previously been treated with a specific type of drug (called an antibody-drug conjugate) that contains a particular cancer-fighting ingredient known as an exatecan-based topoisomerase I inhibitor (confirm with trial site)
