Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- Your bone marrow, kidneys, and liver are functioning well enough (as determined by blood tests)
- Any side effects from previous cancer treatments have mostly cleared up or are mild
- You have been diagnosed with an advanced or spreading solid tumor (confirmed by lab testing) in one of these areas: bladder, brain, breast, cervix, bile ducts, colon/rectum, esophagus, stomach, head and neck, kidney, liver, lung, skin (melanoma), ovaries, pancreas, pleural lining, prostate, soft tissue/bone (sarcoma), tongue, thymus, or urinary tract — and standard treatments have not worked, you cannot tolerate them, or no curative treatment exists
- You have at least one measurable tumor that has not previously been treated with radiation
- You are generally able to carry out light daily activities (your overall health and activity level fall within an acceptable range, as assessed by your doctor)
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer is mainly located in the brainstem or spinal cord, or you have active, uncontrolled cancer that has spread to the brain or its surrounding tissue
- Your cancer has spread widely to internal organs and is considered life-threatening in the short term (for example, large uncontrolled fluid buildups or more than half of your liver affected by cancer)
- You have had another active cancer within the past 3 years (with some exceptions for certain minor skin cancers)
- You have had major surgery within the past 4 weeks
- You have had radiation therapy within the past 4 weeks (except limited radiation to bone lesions)
- You have received systemic cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy) within the past 4 weeks
- You have had bleeding from veins in your esophagus or stomach within the past 2 months
- You have fluid build-up in your abdomen that cannot be managed
- Your heart electrical activity (ECG) shows significant abnormalities that could affect your safety in the trial
- You are currently on blood-thinning medication (certain types may be allowed — confirm with trial site)
- In the past 6 months you have had a heart attack, serious heart rhythm problems, unstable chest pain, heart bypass surgery, a stroke or mini-stroke, significant heart failure, or a serious blood clot in the lungs or elsewhere
- You have high blood pressure that remains above 150/90 mmHg even with medication, or requires more than two medications to control
