Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a woman of reproductive age, between 25 and 50 years old
  • You have been found to have at least one fibroid (a non-cancerous growth in or around the womb) that is 10mm or larger in size, confirmed by an internal ultrasound scan

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously had surgery to remove fibroids (called a myomectomy)
  • You have a long-term, ongoing illness affecting your overall health
  • You have or have had cancer of any kind
  • You have a condition called adenomyosis (where tissue similar to the womb lining grows into the womb wall)
  • You have already gone through menopause
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You are currently taking vitamin D supplements
  • You are currently breastfeeding
  • You have had a miscarriage or pregnancy loss within the last 6 months
  • You have taken the contraceptive pill or any other hormonal medication within the last 3 months
