Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are willing and able to give your informed consent to take part in the study.
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder (either a single episode or recurring episodes) or dysthymia (a long-lasting low mood condition), confirmed through a structured interview.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have ever experienced psychotic symptoms such as hearing or seeing things that others don't (hallucinations), strongly held false beliefs (delusions), or episodes of mania (abnormally high or energetic mood).
  • You are currently considered to be at risk of suicide, based on a specific questionnaire score (confirm with trial site).
  • You have an intellectual disability, meaning your estimated IQ is below 70.
  • You have dementia or significant memory/thinking difficulties.
