Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) and have one or more narrowings (strictures) in your intestine that were found on a CT scan, MRI, or camera examination (endoscopy).
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently have a complete blockage in your bowel that needs emergency surgery.
- Your doctor considers you to be at high risk of developing a sudden, serious bowel blockage.
- You currently have an active infection around your back passage (anal area).
- You have abnormal tunnels (fistulas) forming between different parts of your intestine alongside your narrowings.
- Your narrowing is located very low in the rectum or in the anal canal.
- Tissue samples taken from or near your narrowing have shown signs of pre-cancerous changes or cancer.
- You are unable to safely have an endoscopy (internal camera examination) due to other health conditions.
- You are unable to give your informed agreement to take part in the trial.
- There is a suspected hole or tear in your digestive tract.
- You are pregnant.
- You are unable to have an MRI scan of your small bowel — for example, because you have a pacemaker or other implant that is not compatible with MRI (confirm with trial site).
