Back to Ovarian Cancer
NCT03054298
NCT03054298
Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with one of the following cancers, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy): lung adenocarcinoma (that has spread or come back), a type of ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer (serous epithelial type, that has persisted or come back), or a type of mesothelioma affecting the lining of the lungs or abdomen (epithelial type only) — specific cancer and fluid-related requirements vary by study group, so confirm with the trial site
- You have already tried at least one standard chemotherapy treatment for advanced-stage disease that did not work
- Your cancer can be measured on scans using standard criteria
- If you have cancer that has spread to the brain, it must have already been treated, you must be off steroid medication for it, it must not be getting worse, and there must be no signs of it spreading along the spinal cord or brain lining
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (your doctor will assess this)
- Your blood, liver, kidney, and heart are functioning well enough to meet specific test result thresholds (your doctor will check these)
- Your blood clotting levels are within an acceptable range, or are stable if you are on blood-thinning medication for a cancer-related clotting history
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- If you are able to have children, you must agree to use an acceptable form of contraception during the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a type of mesothelioma called sarcomatoid or biphasic
- You have cancer that has spread along the lining of the brain or spinal cord, or you have spinal cord compression
- You have brain metastases that are currently causing symptoms
- You have another active cancer that is invading nearby tissue (minor non-invasive skin or surface cancers may be acceptable — confirm with trial site)
- You have HIV
- You currently have an active hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection
- You have an active autoimmune disease (such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, or similar conditions) and have needed immune-suppressing medication for it within the past 4 weeks (thyroid replacement therapy is an exception)
- You currently have an ongoing or active infection
- You rely on steroid or immune-suppressing medications on an ongoing basis
- You need supplemental oxygen to breathe
- You have previously received a treatment involving cells modified with a lentiviral gene therapy
- You have a known allergy to human serum albumin, DMSO, or Dextran 40 (ingredients used in the study treatment)
- You have a significant fluid build-up around the heart, a moderate-to-severe heart condition, or another heart problem that could be worsened by this treatment or make it hard to monitor side effects
- You have a significant fluid build-up in the chest or abdomen that cannot be drained — though having a drainage device already in place before joining may be acceptable
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have significant lung disease, including: extensive cancer spread through the lung tissue visible on scans, active radiation-related lung inflammation, or underlying lung scarring or damage (including from previous medications)
