Who might be able to join this trial:

This trial has several different groups (called "cohorts"). Please check which group may apply to you:

Group A – Lung or Head and Neck Cancer:

• You have lung cancer, head and neck cancer, or another solid tumor cancer that cannot be removed by surgery and has spread
• You are a current or former smoker with at least 10 "pack-years" of smoking history (confirm with trial site for exact calculation)
• Your doctor has identified a standard or experimental treatment option for you
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form

Group B – Chronic Inflammatory Disease:

• You have a long-term inflammatory condition such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hepatitis C, Ankylosing Spondylitis, or Scleroderma (or a similar condition)
• You have never smoked, or you stopped smoking at least six months ago
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form

Group C – At Risk for Lung Cancer:

• You are between 45 and 74 years old
• You are a current or former smoker with 30 or more pack-years of smoking history (confirm with trial site for exact calculation)
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form

Group D – Healthy People Who Exercise:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form
• You are able to complete and report 30 minutes of vigorous exercise

Group E – Lung Cancer with Planned Surgery:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You have lung cancer and are already scheduled to have surgery to remove it
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form

Group F – Solid Tumor Cancer with Planned Radiation Therapy:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You have any solid tumor cancer and are scheduled to receive radiation therapy
• You are willing and able to sign an approved consent form

Who may not be able to join:

Group A – Lung or Head and Neck Cancer:

• You have a significant medical or mental health condition that the study doctor feels could affect your ability to take part or follow the treatment plan
• You have been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or have previously received an organ transplant
• You have a condition affecting brain function that could prevent full participation (confirm with trial site)
• You have a significant history of problems with basic thinking or memory that could prevent full participation (confirm with trial site)

Group B – Chronic Inflammatory Disease:

• You have a significant medical or mental health condition that the study doctor feels could affect your ability to take part or follow the treatment plan
• You have a condition affecting brain function that could prevent full participation (confirm with trial site)
• You have a significant history of problems with basic thinking or memory that could prevent full participation (confirm with trial site)
• You currently have another cancer, unless it was a very early-stage cancer and you have been free of it at the time of joining, or you have been free of any other cancer for at least 5 years
• You are currently taking steroid medications, or have taken them in the last 3 months

Group C – At Risk for Lung Cancer:

• You currently have another cancer, unless it was a very early-stage cancer and you are free of it at the time of joining, or you have been free of any other cancer for at least 5 years
• You have a history of lung cancer
• You have previously had part of your lung removed (a needle biopsy does not count)
• You have lost more than 15 pounds without explanation in the past 12 months
• You have recently coughed up blood (confirm with trial site for timeframe)
• You have had pneumonia or a breathing infection treated with antibiotics in the last 12 weeks
• You have had a chest CT scan in the last 18 months that showed something suspicious for cancer
• You have a chronic inflammatory condition such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hepatitis C, Ankylosing Spondylitis, or Scleroderma

Group D – Healthy People Who Exercise:

• You have diabetes, heart disease
