Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), based on having irregular periods and signs (either from symptoms or blood tests) of higher-than-normal male hormone levels.
  • You have not taken any hormonal treatments (such as birth control pills) or the medication metformin for at least 2 months before the study begins.

Who may not be able to join:

  • Women whose hemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells in the blood) is below 11 g/dl at the initial screening appointment.
  • Women who have a thyroid condition that is not currently being treated.
  • Women who are pregnant.
  • Women with a Body Mass Index (BMI) — a measure of body weight relative to height — above 37.
  • Women who are known to have an allergy or sensitivity to the medication being used in this study (confirm with trial site).
