Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 65 years old or older and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that is not well controlled by your current diabetes medications
  • Your current diabetes treatment includes either no insulin at all, or only a long-acting (basal) insulin as your only insulin type
  • You have agreed to take part and signed a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your diabetes medication doses have been changed, or a new blood sugar medication was started, in the last 8 weeks before the screening visit
  • You have used short-acting (bolus) insulin injections regularly for more than 10 days in a row during the past 6 months, or — if you have never used insulin — you have used any insulin for more than 10 days in a row in the past year (except for a short-term situation like illness or surgery)
  • You have been diagnosed with dementia or significant memory/thinking problems, or a neurological condition that might affect your ability to follow the study procedures (confirm with trial site)
