Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with early Type 2 diabetes and are managing it with Metformin or diet alone (no other diabetes medications)
- You have been told you have prediabetes, meaning your blood sugar levels are slightly higher than normal but not yet in the diabetic range (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- Your HbA1c (a blood test that shows your average blood sugar over the past few months) is below 7%
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI), a measure of body weight relative to height, is between 28.0 and 39.9
Who may not be able to join:
- You are taking any diabetes medication other than Metformin
- You have a psychiatric (mental health) condition
- You currently have an active infection
- You have issues with alcohol or drug misuse
- You have or have had cancer, or a blood-related disorder
- You have moderate to severe heart failure (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently experiencing a serious heart condition such as a heart attack (confirm with trial site)
- You have had a major blood vessel-related event (such as a stroke or heart attack) in the past 3 months
- You have moderate to severe kidney disease (confirm with trial site)
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
