Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or higher (considered overweight or obese).
  • You have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), specifically having fewer than 9 periods per year AND signs of excess male hormones, such as unwanted hair growth, severe acne, or higher than normal testosterone levels.
  • You are not currently taking any medications to treat insulin resistance.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have been diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome (a condition caused by too much cortisol in the body).
  • You have an untreated thyroid condition, whether overactive or underactive.
  • You have higher than normal levels of a hormone called prolactin in your blood.
  • You have a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia (a hormonal disorder present from birth — confirm with trial site).
  • You have reduced kidney function, based on a specific blood test result (confirm with trial site).
  • You have diabetes.
  • You are taking medications that can significantly affect how your blood vessels work (confirm with trial site which medications apply).
  • You are currently pregnant.
  • You are currently breastfeeding.
  • You are currently taking oral contraceptives (birth control pills).
  • You currently smoke.
