Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed (confirmed by lab testing) with cancer of the cervix, uterus, ovaries, or fallopian tubes
  • Your cancer is at a specific stage — cervical cancer stages IA2 to IIA2, uterine cancer stages I to III, or ovarian/fallopian tube cancer stages I to IIIB
  • You are scheduled to have surgery that includes removal of lymph nodes in the pelvis and/or the area around the main abdominal artery
  • Your blood counts, kidney function, and liver function are within acceptable levels (confirm with trial site)
  • You are considered low-risk for anaesthesia, rated 0 or 1 on the anaesthesiologist's fitness scale (confirm with trial site)
  • You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself, rated 0 to 2 on a standard wellbeing scale used in cancer trials
  • You are considered a suitable candidate for surgery
  • You have read and signed an informed consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have previously had radiotherapy to your pelvis or abdomen
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You have a medical reason why surgery would not be safe for you
  • You have other serious health conditions that make you unfit for surgery
  • You are not able to attend follow-up appointments, or you live too far from the trial site to do so reliably
  • Your surgery involves only a small sample of lymph nodes being taken, rather than a full removal
