Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a new patient at one of the participating memory clinics and doctors suspect you may have a brain condition affecting memory or thinking.
- You have memory concerns, whether noticed only by yourself or confirmed through testing.
- Your level of daily functioning and memory falls within a specific range measured by a standard assessment called the CDR (score of 0, 0.5, or 1) (confirm with trial site).
- You scored 20 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the MMSE (confirm with trial site).
- You have a trusted family member, friend, or carer who sees you or speaks with you at least once a week.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (a condition involving fluid build-up in the brain) (confirm with trial site).
- You have been diagnosed with Huntington's disease.
- You have had a mini-stroke or stroke in the past 2 years, or a mini-stroke or stroke that caused memory or thinking problems within the past 3 months.
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or another psychotic disorder within the past 12 months.
- You have experienced major depression within the past 12 months.
- You have a problem with alcohol misuse.
- You have a brain tumour, epilepsy, or have had brain inflammation (encephalitis).
- You do not have a reliable person who can act as an informant for the study.
- You are unlikely to be able to attend follow-up appointments.
