Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with one of these cancers (confirmed by a tissue test): neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Wilms tumor, retinoblastoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, or carcinoid tumor
- Your cancer has come back after treatment or has stopped responding to treatment
- Your cancer can be measured or detected on scans
- There are no known treatments that can cure your cancer or meaningfully extend your life with a good quality of life
- You are able to carry out at least some daily activities (your doctor will assess this using a standard scale)
- Your blood cell counts, kidney function, liver function, and protein levels meet certain minimum levels (your doctor will check these with blood tests)
- Your blood oxygen level is above 92% while breathing normal room air
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could become pregnant or father a child, you are using effective birth control
- You are fully toilet trained and do not have ongoing problems with daytime or nighttime bladder or bowel control
- You have fully recovered from the side effects of any previous cancer treatments
- You have waited the required amount of time since certain past treatments (such as radiation, stem cell transplant, or chemotherapy) before joining the trial
- You are able to follow the safety monitoring requirements of the study, in the opinion of the study doctor
Who may not be able to join:
- You have tumors or cancer spread in the lungs that are larger than 5 cm (confirm with trial site)
- You have significant fluid build-up around the lungs or heart (confirm with trial site)
- Your cancer started in the brain or spinal cord, or has spread there
- You have an infection that is not under control
- You live with someone who is pregnant
- You have ongoing diarrhea, daytime or nighttime bladder leakage, or a permanent urinary catheter
- You have had a stem cell transplant and still have signs of graft-versus-host disease (a condition where transplanted cells attack the body)
- You have received a viral vaccine (including flu shots) in the past 7 days, or would need one during the study
- You are currently taking part in another experimental drug study or receiving any other cancer treatments at the same time
- You have previously been treated with the experimental treatment used in this trial (Seneca Valley virus-001)
