Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be 50 years of age or older
  • You must have been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease
  • You must have scored between 13 and 22 on a standard memory and thinking test called the MMSE (confirm with trial site)
  • You must have been taking a stable, fixed dose of donepezil (5mg or 10mg daily) for at least 4 months before the start of the trial
  • You must be living at home rather than in a nursing home, and have a caregiver or carer who looks after you

Who may not be able to join:

  • You may not be eligible if your dementia is caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease
  • You may not be eligible if you have another significant condition affecting the brain or nervous system
  • You may not be eligible if you have depression that is currently untreated or not yet under control
  • You may not be eligible if you have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or another serious mental health condition
