Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease.
  • Your Alzheimer's diagnosis meets a specific standard set of medical guidelines known as DSM-IV-TR criteria (confirm with trial site).
  • You scored between 12 and 24 on a standard memory and thinking test called the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).
  • You have been taking the Alzheimer's medication donepezil (also known as Aricept) at a steady dose for at least 6 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your memory or thinking problems are caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease.
  • You have a significant physical problem or disease affecting the structure of your brain.
  • You have an unstable or serious ongoing health condition, or serious liver or kidney disease.
