Back to Ovarian Cancer
NCT00791778
NCT00791778
Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer (stage III or IV) or a related cancer called primary peritoneal cancer, confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue samples.
- After surgery to remove the tumor and 4 to 6 rounds of standard chemotherapy (using platinum and taxane-based drugs), all signs of cancer have completely disappeared on scans and tests.
- Your blood test for a cancer marker called CA125 is within the normal range, taken within 7 days before starting the study drug.
- You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (this is measured on a standard scale called ECOG, with a score of 0 or 1).
- Your scans confirming that the cancer is gone were done within 30 days before joining the trial.
- You are able to swallow and keep down tablets or capsules taken by mouth.
Who may not be able to join:
- Any cancer tissue is still visible on a CT or MRI scan after completing chemotherapy.
- You have previously had radiotherapy to the area, chemotherapy before surgery, or chemotherapy given directly into the abdomen.
- Your ovarian cancer is not the epithelial type — for example, if it has been identified as sarcoma, lymphoma, or germ cell cancer.
- You have had major surgery, an open biopsy, or a serious physical injury within the 30 days before joining the trial.
