Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

For the primary twin (the twin with possible PCOS):

  • You are a woman who has not yet gone through menopause and are over 18 years old
  • You have a living female twin sister
  • You have a history of one or more of the following (as you reported in a previous survey): irregular periods, unusual hair growth on the body, hair loss, cysts on the ovaries, a body mass index (a measure of body weight) over 25, or acne
  • You are willing and able to give your consent to take part
  • You agree to have a medical check-up to look for signs of PCOS

For the co-twin (the twin sister):

  • You are a woman who has not yet gone through menopause and are over 18 years old
  • You are willing and able to give your consent to take part
  • You agree to have a medical check-up to look for signs of PCOS

Who may not be able to join:

  • Women who are currently pregnant or who have given birth in the last six months
  • Women who are currently going through menopause or have already been through menopause
  • Women who have a health condition that the research team believes could affect the results of the study (confirm with trial site)
