Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Children who are overweight and not very physically active
  • Children who are Black or white
  • Children who attend one of the specific schools in the Augusta, Georgia area that are part of this study

Who may not be able to join:

  • Children who are unable to take part in fitness testing or an intense exercise program
  • Children who have diabetes
  • Children who are currently taking medication that could affect the study results (confirm with trial site)
  • Children who have a brother or sister already enrolled in this study
