Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with stage III or IV ovarian cancer or primary peritoneal cancer (confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue samples), and have had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible.
- You have recovered from your initial surgery and are enrolling in this study no more than 12 weeks after that surgery.
- You are reasonably well and able to carry out some daily activities (a doctor would assess this using a standard scale).
- Your blood test results meet certain minimum levels for white blood cells, platelets, and red blood cells (hemoglobin).
- Your kidney and liver function blood test results are within acceptable ranges for this study.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your ovarian tumor has been classified as "borderline" (low malignant potential) or is a specific rare type such as a germ cell tumor, sex cord-stromal tumor, carcinosarcoma, mixed Mullerian tumor, or micropapillary serous carcinoma (confirm with trial site).
- You have or have had cancer of the lining of the uterus (endometrial cancer).
- You have had another serious (invasive) cancer within the last 3 years, except for certain skin cancers or the specific exceptions noted in the criteria (confirm with trial site).
- You have had any treatment for this cancer other than the initial debulking surgery (for example, chemotherapy or radiation for this cancer).
- You have previously had radiation treatment to any part of your abdomen or pelvis.
- You have taken part in another experimental drug trial within the past 26 weeks, or you still have significant side effects from a previous treatment (other than hair loss).
- You currently have an active hepatitis infection (acute or chronic).
- You currently have an active infection that requires antibiotic or antiviral medication.
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
