NCT00003317
Completed Phase 3

Who may be able to join

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have been diagnosed with stage IIIA non-small cell lung cancer, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
  • Your cancer was fully removed through lung surgery (such as removal of one lobe, two lobes, the whole lung, or a sleeve procedure), performed through any surgical approach including keyhole/camera-assisted surgery
  • There is no known cancer remaining in your body after surgery
  • The cancer was found to have spread to lymph nodes in the chest only when discovered during surgery or confirmed after surgery by lab analysis of removed tissue
  • All visibly affected lymph nodes were removed during surgery
  • If a scan showed enlarged lymph nodes (larger than 1.5 cm), a procedure to check those nodes (called a mediastinoscopy) was done and did not show cancer before surgery (confirm with trial site)
  • Your blood cell counts meet certain minimum levels — your white blood cells (granulocytes) and platelets are within an acceptable range
  • Your liver function tests (bilirubin and SGOT) and kidney function are within acceptable ranges
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have any known cancer still remaining after surgery
  • Cancer in your chest lymph nodes was known or confirmed before surgery (e.g., through a pre-surgical mediastinoscopy)
  • You have had chemotherapy before for this type of lung cancer
  • You have had radiation therapy before for this type of lung cancer
  • You are currently receiving or planning to receive other chemotherapy, hormone therapy (with limited exceptions such as steroids for adrenal problems, or anti-nausea medication), or growth factor treatments alongside this trial

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.
